“Badger” is a HERO WOD, in honor of Navy Chief Petty Officer Mark Carter, 27, of Virginia Beach, VA who was killed in Iraq 11 December 2007. First posted on www.crossfit.com 19 December 2007.

HERO WODs are supposed to be hard and incredibly challenging both physically and mentally. HERO WODs will test your mental fortitude. In order to complete it, you have to “embrace the suck.” And no matter what, you cannot quit.

    Big congratulations to John for actually participating and completing a WOD (Grace) yesterday. He was seen to perspire and do a bit of deep breathing. When asked why he chose Grace to begin his apparent comeback, he replied “it was short.”

    Had 101 fever all day yesterday. I finally feel better today, but certainly not well enough for Badger. So, I will fall back on my 31:55 as rx’d from October. Since Max E seemed concerned about my absence, I am hoping to return next week.
