For my car guys out there….Just in time for Halloween: “Scary Cars”,

Who wouldn’t love to have a Radio Flyer wagon car??? 🙂

Get to know…..Andrea Kirk!

How long have you been a CrossFitter?About a year

What is your previous sports/fitness background?
I did a lot of climbing, dogsledding, ice work, mountaineering, skiing, and whitewater stuff.

What is your favorite CrossFit WOD?
I like Angie

Least Favorite?
Anything with double unders. Might as well just whip my legs with wire.

Your Fran time?
I have a really hard time keeping track of rounds because I day dream a lot. I don’t know my times for a lot of things.

What athlete (CrossFit or otherwise) do you admire most and why?
I admire complete lunatics, so this would include Christine Baker who made the first descent of the Colorado River in an open canoe while pregnant. She was my first serious whitewater trainer.

What do you hope to accomplish by doing CrossFit?
I am really pleased to accomplish having such a good time with such a neat bunch of people.

Do you train for a specific purpose (ie, another sport)?
Well, I use Crossfit to train for lecturing which involves pacing around, talking, waving my arms and sometimes knocking papers and stuff off the podium.

What are your CrossFit goals?
Strings of muscle ups and butterfly kipping pullups

Do you paleo or zone?
No. I have been a vegetarian since committing bird murder at church camp when I was 13. I try to eat well (which includes beans, whole grains and ice cream) without being too anal about it.

Would you rather do 100 burpees, 100 pullups or 100 squats?
Pullups. But without the hand rips.

What do you do when you are not at CrossFit?
Work on other stuff and usually about 17 different things at once. I have a hard time not working.

Lifting shoes of Vibram five fingers?
Mismatched ankle socks.

What is on your favorite CrossFit t-shirt?
A lot of chalk.

What is the best piece of advice you’d give a new CrossFitter?
Stick with it, and don’t be intimidated about anything. All of these people are nuts and wish you well.

What do you do to warm up?
Just stretch a bit. I miss having the group warm ups, and cool downs with stretching.

What do you do for recovery?
Take a nap. We (Karli and I) usually take a day off between WODs. Karli would like to go every day though and does not care about recovery at all. That’s being 15 for ya.

What CrossFit certs have you been to or hope to go to?
Olympic lifting.

If you could have dinner with three CrossFit all-stars, who would it be?
Well, I think having dinner with three copies of Ronin would be intriguing. Would have to film that one . . . possibly through plexiglass.

What do you like best about CrossFit Seven?
The people.

Any other information you would like the world to know???
Uh. No . . . but . . . no.

Rowed for 15 minutes = awful
Going to Vegas this weekend, plan on visiting Crossfit Las Vegas right off the strip. It’s in a massive sports complex with a gun range and a batting cage. Should be cool.

Andrew, is that like biathlon, except you shoot and club, instead of skiing and shooting?
