At first glance, these images look like painted landscapes, including towering hills, mad sea and stormy weather in the background. However, if you look a little more closely you will see that the sea and storm were made of cabbage, in other photo trees are broccoli and the hills are baked potatoes. These aren’t paintings – they are true photos!

Also everything you can see in the photograph is made of real food! Pictures were photographed by Carl Warner, a photographer who works in London, and who made specialty of these food landscapes or ‘foodscapes‘. In recent years he has been commissioned by many advertising agencies throughout Europe to produce his distinctive images for clients in the food industry. Each scene is photographed in layers from foreground to background.

Get to know…..Miles Hill!

How long have you been a CrossFitter? On and off for the past three years. CF7 has really increased my motivation and focused my drive.

What is your previous sports/fitness background? I played a lot of sports when I was younger. Football, track, wrestling, powerlifting. As for general fitness, the USMC makes sure you maintain high levels and then I followed those four years as a personal trainer for Golds Gym while I was bodybuilding.

What is your favorite CrossFit WOD? My favorites change. Whatever I am weak at I attempt to fall in love with. For now it would be some combination of OHS, MU, Wallballs, 400m… I’m getting sick just thinking about it!

Least Favorite? No such thing

Your Fran time? I have never done Fran. Looking forward to finding out soon though

What do you hope to accomplish by doing CrossFit? To be healthy and strong. Physical fitness for me is a way of life. Crossfit is a way for me to truly incorporate everything I want achieve into 5 or 6 brutal thrashings a week.

Do you paleo or zone? Milk and deadlifts baby!

Would you rather do 100 burpees, 100 pullups or 100 squats? 100 burpees

What do you do when you are not at CrossFit? I’m a Cased Hole Engineer / TCP Specialist in the oil field. Explosives and heavy equipment!

Lifting shoes of Vibram five fingers? Vibrams. Unless its OLY liftings.

What is on your favorite CrossFit t-shirt?
Mens – “we’re not crazy, you’re just weak”
Womens – “you should see my snatch”

What is the best piece of advice you’d give a new CrossFitter? Scale the workouts and always finish.

What do you to warm up for a WOD? For warm up I typically run an 800 for a general warmup and then do exercise specific for whatever the WOD is.

What do you do for recovery? How often do you take rest days? I do my best to follow the mainsite on/off schedule. 3:1… But sometimes more rest is definitely required. 8 hours of sleep (when possible) and lots of milk!!

What CrossFit certs have you been to or hope to go to? Eventually Level 1. Possibily more if the right opportunities arise.

If you could have dinner with three CrossFit all-stars, who would it be? Does Coach Glassman count? Khalipa and Miranda Oldroyd

What do you like best about CrossFit Seven? The enviroment is very welcoming and supportive. Feels like a group of old friends, even on day one.

    Those food pictures were for sure taken in the back of Ronin’s fridge. I think they were airbrushed quite a bit.

    Fun WOD! Explosive power!!!
    Started with 225# for min 1-10. Min 11 at 245#, 12-15 at 250#. Box jumps height continued to climb throughout.

    Impressive times on yesterdays WOD. Manton killed it

    Wish I could do the Mud Run.. in a tennis tournament that wkend. Spring, I’m in!

    185# No box so I used the bumper of the firetruck. I think its about 24″

    Hi guy. Wish I could do the Mud Run with you and continue to get to know everyone… buuuut I’m in Louisiana as of this morning and on the water as of friday morning. I’ll see you all when I return, and thanks for the hospitality while I was home!
