Nicole, Eva T., Annie, Greg A., Speal……what do those names mean to you??

If you have been around CrossFit for a while, you know who the CrossFit elite, the original all stars are…..mention “Nicole, Eva T. and Annie”, and most old-time CrossFitters think of the original “Nasty Girls”…CrossFit has exploded in the last couple of years, and there is an entire generation of CrossFitters that have no idea who these people are.

Each day this week, we’ll talk Classic CrossFit!!! Today, meet the girls, Nicole, Eva T., and Annie, the original “Nasty Girls”.

For many CrossFitters, this video was the first one they saw. And no, it’s not in a fast speed – these girls are true beasts. Each of them trained for many years at the original CrossFit HQ. Nicole Carroll (the one with the white top) now works for HQ and has a great CFJ article, “Getting Off the Crack”. Eva Twardokens (in the blue shirt and pants) is a two time Olympic skiier and now spends time skiing and surfing, teaching others how to be athletes, as well as trains CrossFitters at CrossFit Santa Cruz Central. Annie Sakamoto is also part of the HQ staff on Level 1 certs and trains at CrossFit Santa Cruz Central as well!

My favorite video with Nicole is the 15 overhead squats at bodyweight…it’s still my number one goal.

    Once upon a time this WOD was posted and when I arrived at the box, lo and behold the workout turned into wallballs and 400s. Is this what’s in store for tomorrow? I ask so that I could properly prepare my mind. Plus, if it turns out to be wallballs I need Cody to be prepared to put my medicine ball back after the WOD.

    I came in last at the 4:15 class today -soooo slow! My legs did not want to move. MANY MANY thanks to Scott and Cody for running the last leg with me. I heart you guys!

    Scott-I know, I know! I found the worst candy ever!!! I totally didn’t see it.

    Back from a month off (paternity leave).
    I think I am going to be sore tomorrow (and Wednesday) but glad to be back.
