The donations for the local Firefighters in Palo Pinto are coming in! THANK YOU!!!

I talked to my friend David, who is a firefighter at the fire station around the corner from CF7 and has ties to Palo Pinto. David posted the pictures below, and he said the pictures really do not show the magnitude of destruction in the area.

If you have additional donations, please bring them by Saturday! Thank you!

Cash (if you don’t have time to make it to the store!)
Dust masks
Lip balm (Carmex or Chapstick-style)
Eye drops
Anti-histamines or allergy medicines
Ibuprofin or Naproxin
Gatorade (powdered and bottled)
Water
Nutritious snacks
High-protein nutrition bars
Fruit
Sunscreen, especially 50+ SPF
Wet wipes & hand sanitizer
Garbage bags
Ice/coolers

This picture is from the top of the Captain Kidd Council Ring looking northwest over the river with the edge of the peanut fields at the bottom. This mountain is completely burned.

Looking westward from the council ring. Burned all the way down to the base of the mountain. You can’t see it from here but the firefighters did a back burn at the bottom of the mountain.

A closer shot of the mountains across from the council ring. The mountain is completely burned.

The local fire departments in Palo Pinto/Possum Kingdom are all-volunteer. They have lots of supplies, and their greatest need at the moment is monetary donations. If you would like to contribute, you can mail any donations to:

    Possum Kingdom FireFighter Relief Fund
    Graham Savings and Loan
    PO Box 1490

    Good one Andy!

PAU-KUNE – I officially met Tommy yesterday when I was the only patron at Daybreak. He sat at my table.

I think he and Ryan go way back though.

The scar was his quadruple bypass from eating Daybreak for breakfast every morning.
