“No Rep” with Dan Bailey and Oscar Bailey – video from CrossFit.com [wmv] [mov]

*******************************************************************************************************************
Rob Orlando PR’d max weight thrusters at 305 pounds last week. 305!! There are people who cannot back squat 305 pounds, and Rob threw it overhead. WOW.

Rob is wicked strong and can move a lot of weight. But he isn’t able to do a 305 pound thruster with strength alone. His technique is solid throughout, and what I like about this video is when the weight gets heavy, he does not press or “muscle” the weight overhead. Instead, he uses his hips, exploding out of the bounce at the bottom and DRIVES that weight overhead. Technique came before muscle –love it.

Also notice, his first lift at 225 and his final lift at 305 both have great technique throughout. That does not happen by accident. I’ve heard Coach Burgener say “Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.”

205 and 15:38. Horrible performance on the metcon. Apparently underestimated the psychological impact of an awful weekend. Amazing how that works, when you try to dig in and there’s nothing there.

Maybe I should’ve borrowed Cody’s uterus that he was talking about the other day.
