Coach B asked me recently if I had ever seen “Seven Days in Utopia”. I had not, and he said, “You HAVE to see it!” I put it in my netflix queue and finally received it late last week….and I watched it three times before I sent it back.

Seven Days in Utopia is hands down one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The movie is centered around golf, but the parallels to CrossFit and Olympic Lifting are remarkable. There are nuggets of wisdom sprinkled throughout the movie that I love:

“The toughest challenge you’ll face in your game is that casual comment offered by someone about what you should be doing…if you don’t have conviction about where your foundation is, that off handed comment will take you out of your game and erode your confidence.”

“Rhythm, balance, patience — that’s what you need to stay in your game…..a calm mindset, a focus on the feel, rather than on the outcome.”

“All golf shots start with a blank canvas. We paint the golf shot first so our bodies can reproduce it accurately. Don’t think….see!!!”

Hey Aimee, I’ll leave sacks of mags at CF7 when I go at 9:00 in the morning. Hope that works. Let me know if you want me to go a different route of delivery. So glad you can use them!!

    Not feeling super strong today:

    PC: 245#

    WOD: 7×205#, 1×195#, 4×185#

The squat cleans started eating me up at the end. And I started out a little too ambitious.
