You may have heard or read about this already, but a committee who makes recommendations for the USDA dietary guidelines recently release their report and decided to leave out lean meat as a component of a healthy diet.  It is a special interest group move that ignores science and nutrition data.


The North American Meat Institute is responding in many ways to correct this wrong, one of which is by creating a change.org petition.  This petition, in addition to creating awareness of the issue to a broader consumer base, will inform Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack as signatures are added.  Please take a moment to add your name, and then forward the link to your friends, family, and colleagues who may be interested in signing as well.
