This first skill is one of the hardest skills in gymnastics. It was first done by German gymnast Andreas Bretschneider. It is 2 flips over the bar with 2 twists in the straight body position. Insanely difficult. He missed it at the Olympic Games so it has not been officially named or added to the code of points yet. It will be the first "I" level element in our Code of Points. This Japanese gymnast performs it beautifully, BUT the reason why I love this video is the reaction of the Japanese coaches in the background. And by reaction I mean lack of reaction. I was fortunate to have been coached by many Japanese greats during my time at Stanford and this reaction is very familiar…haha. This kid just performed one of the hardest skills to ever be done in the sport and there is barely movement by the coaches. This is probably one of the reasons why the Japanese are the best in the world. Takes a lot to impress them 🙂 @powermonkeyfitness #ilovegymnastics #japanesegymnastics #notimpressed
